At the time of pick up, you will be provided a paper with our Health Guarantee. The following is a preview.
"This is a guarantee that your new puppy appears free of health issues (unless noted otherwise on the veterinary report). At the age of 5-7 weeks of age, this puppy was examined by a veterinarian and unless otherwise noted on the report, appears healthy and normal. If you accept your puppy with the veterinary report that is given to you for the puppy that you picked out and accepted, you take all responsibility for the puppy and all vet bills that may occur in the future if it is not covered in the health guarantee. Our guarantee is active for One Year from date of purchase and covers every congenital or inherited birth defect if any should be discovered (not including anything mentioned before purchase).
Every puppy must see a licensed veterinarian within 14 days from leaving Lucky Corner Kennels. You must have a written statement from your licensed veterinarian stating the date and age of your puppy or the health guarantee is void. We recommend that you have your puppy spayed/neutered.
You must vaccinate your puppy with appropriate vaccines at the appropriate times and ages of the puppy. We do not accept responsibility for any vet bills that occur after the puppy leaves our care including (but not limited to) viruses contracted from failure to follow vaccine and deworming schedules.
Please know that all puppies can have worms or internal parasites. We deworm regularly and to the best of our knowledge, your puppy has no parasite issue. Please keep up the treatments that your veterinarian gives the puppy or recommends.
If your puppy develops hip dysplasia, you must prove this hereditary and not caused from being overweight, malnourished or an injury of any kind. Obesity in dogs can cause hip dysplasia. I recommend keeping your puppy healthy by giving them good nutrition but not allowing them to become overweight. It is important that they have exercise but don't overexert themselves. Your puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian and the weight of the puppy must be listed on the report along with the age of the puppy and date of the exam. You must have an OFA or PennHip report completed to accompany your veterinarian report.
If your puppy has failing hips, or a hereditary disease, where the puppy must be euthanized or has hereditary cataracts, you have two options. I will either replace your puppy with another puppy of the same breed and gender from the first available litter, or I will refund you the price of the puppy. Any veterinarian costs are to be payed by you. In the event your puppy dies, you may receive a refund of the purchase price of your puppy, or a replacement puppy of equivalent value. In the event of death, the deceased puppy need not be returned to the dog breeder if you submit a statement issued by a licensed veterinarian stating the cause of death. If your licensed veterinarian states in writing that your puppy is unfit for purchase because it became ill due to an illness or disease that existed within 15 days following delivery to you, or within 1 year in the case of congenital or hereditary condition, you may choose one of the following: Return your puppy and receive a refund of the purchase price OR Return your puppy and receive a puppy of your choice of equivalent value, providing a replacement puppy is available.
Please Note: We do not accept responsibility for any vet bills that occur after the puppy leaves our care including (but not limited to) viruses contracted from failure to follow vaccine and deworming schedules.
If the puppy is resold to another party other than to who I sold the puppy to, or to a different residence from where my records indicate the puppy was to go to, then this health guarantee is void immediately.
The goal here at Lucky Corner Kennels is to provide you with a healthy, quality puppy that will stay in your family for years to come. If your puppy shows up with any type of health issue, please contact us so that we are aware of it."
Thanks!
